Tribal dance groups from 17 states including Chhattisgarh will have a captivating presentation on Tribal Pride Day.

Raipur, 11 November 2024/ Under the guidance of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, a state level grand event will be organized on the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda – Tribal Pride Day on 14 and 15 November at the Science College grounds of Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh. In this two-day program, tribal dance groups from 17 states including Chhattisgarh will give captivating performances. There will be various attractive presentations including Adi folk dance drama of Arunachal Pradesh, Bhil Bhagoriya dance of Madhya Pradesh, Garo folk dance of Meghalaya and Aao Naga folk dance of Nagaland.

It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate Tribal Pride Day from Jamui (Bihar) on 15th November. He will virtually participate in the programs organized in Chhattisgarh and will also discuss with the beneficiaries of the districts included in PM Janman Yojana. On the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, a one-day Pride Day will also be organized in all the district headquarters of the state.

Preparations for this are being made by the Tribal Department. During Tribal Pride Day, various programs based on tribal pride will be organized on 14th and 15th November from 11 am to 8 pm in the Science College grounds, in which subject experts and tribal artists from many states and connoisseurs of tribal art culture will participate. .

To make the two-day state level Tribal Pride Day event grand and memorable, Tribal Dance Groups and artists from different states of the country are being specially invited by the Tribal Welfare Department. So far, 22 tribal dance troupes from 18 states have given their consent to participate in this two-day event, which includes Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Assam, Tripura, Uttarakhand, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka. Tribal dance troupes from Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and other states are included. Among these, the number of male and female artists is approximately 425.

Principal Secretary Shri Sonmani Bora said that on November 14 and 15, along with the presentation of cultural program by inter-state folk dance groups, a seminar will be organized on topics related to tribal pride and painting on tribal lifestyle at the Science College grounds on November 14 and 15 from 3 pm. There will also be a demonstration.
