Raipur, the Gramodyog exhibition held at BTI Ground, Shankar Nagar is receiving an enthusiastic response from the people. In the exhibition, products made by the excellent weavers, artisans, potters of Chhattisgarh like Kosa and cotton sarees, bedsheets, dress material, suits, cotton bags, Kosa shawls, jackets, bell metal, wood-boss crafts, iron crafts materials are being purchased by a large number of people every day. Handicrafts and decorative items have become the center of attraction for the people. People are buying them for home decoration.
It is noteworthy that this exhibition of Gramodyog started on the occasion of 7th August National Handloom Day, which will run till 31st August. The handloom department is giving a discount of up to 60 percent on the materials available for sale in this exhibition. Various products prepared by the weavers and artisans of the state have been made available for display and sale in the exhibition.
Secretary cum-Director of Gramodyog Department, Mr. Shyam Dhawde said that a large number of women are reaching the exhibition and buying their favorite outfits and clothes along with handicrafts materials. Here, Godna art, Shishal art and handloom fabrics including Kosa silk, Tussar silk, cotton dress material, sarees, dupattas, sheets, bedsheets and Khadi clothes and materials made by Gramodyog have attracted people. This exhibition is a gift for the people with huge discounts in the festive season. Mr. M.M. Joshi, Secretary, Chhattisgarh State Handloom Marketing Association, said that there is a lot of sale in the exhibition of Gramodyog products. People are reaching the various stalls set up here and buying traditional clothes and handicrafts and decorative items available at affordable rates.
