Raipur, March 25, 2025/Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today participated in the 7-day Shiv Mahapuran Katha held at Madheshwar Mahadev Dham in Mayali, Jashpur district, and listened to the Katha with devotion, sitting alongside families from the Particularly Backward Tribes, the Pahari Korwa and Birhor tribes. It is noteworthy that over one lakh devotees were present on this occasion to listen to the Shiv Mahapuran Katha.
Chief Minister Shri Sai felicitated storyteller Pandit Shri Pradeep Mishra Ji by presenting him with a garland and a photograph of Madheshwar Mahadev, and also sought his blessings, wishing for the happiness and prosperity of the people of the state.
Along with Chief Minister Shri Sai, his wife Smt. Kaushalya Sai, Zilla Panchayat President Shri Salik Sai, Vice President Shri Shaurya Pratap Singh Judeo, Pawan Sai, Krishna Kumar Rai, Bharat Singh, along with senior administrative officers — Commissioner Shri Narendra Dugga, IG Shri Ankit Garg, Collector Shri Rohit Vyas, Superintendent of Police Shri Shashi Mohan Singh, and a large number of devotees were present.
Chief Minister Teerth Yatra Yojana to Restart on March 27
Addressing the devotees, Chief Minister Shri Sai said that it is a matter of great fortune for all of us that Pandit Pradeep Mishra himself has come to the land of Madheshwar Mahadev to narrate the divine story of Lord Shiva. The entire atmosphere has become imbued with spiritual energy due to the stream of Shiva devotion that has been flowing here for the past five days. People are gaining spiritual knowledge from this holy Katha.
Chief Minister Shri Sai informed that the Chief Minister Teerth Yatra Yojana (pilgrimage scheme) will be re-launched on March 27. Under this, interested devotees will be sent to visit various pilgrimage sites. The Chief Minister also informed that under the Ayodhya Dham Ramlala Darshan Yojana (scheme for visiting Ramlala in Ayodhya), more than 22,000 devotees have visited Lord Shri Ram so far.
The villagers of the Particularly Backward Tribes, the Pahari Korwa and Birhor tribes, also benefited from the divine stream of the Shiv Mahapuran Katha. Many devotees from villages Pandarsili (Manora), Beherakhar and Bhitghara (Bagicha) reached the Katha site. Santosh Ram, Bajru Ram, Shankar Ram, Durga Ram of the Pahari Korwa tribe and Gendu Ram, Gurubaru Ram, Lakha Ram of the Birhor tribe said that the Shiva Katha has touched our hearts. Pradeep Mishra Ji’s discourses not only teach devotion but also give a new direction to life.
Madheshwar Mahadev: A Center of Spiritual Faith
Chief Minister Shri Sai described Madheshwar Mahadev Dham as a symbol of pride as the world’s largest natural Shivling and said that this site is the center of religious faith for the entire state. He called upon more and more people to take advantage of this holy occasion and to be present in the remaining two days of the Katha and to energize themselves with Shiva devotion.
