    Raipur/ This time, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in Raipur has been soaked in the colors of the rich folk tradition of Chhattisgarh. On the occasion of Teeja-Pora Tihar, the auditorium premises are adorned with Nandiya-Baila, traditional toys, colorful Vandanwar, and Chhattisgarhi decorations, creating a wonderful spectacle.

    The preparations for this special event, to be held on August 24 on the occasion of Chhattisgarh Silver Jubilee Festival, under the guidance of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai and Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Lakshmi Rajwade, are almost complete. About 3 thousand women will participate in the Teeja-Pora Tihar, including the beneficiaries of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, the Didis of women self-help groups, and the Mitanins.

    On this occasion, worship of Shiv-Parvati, Nandiya Baila, and agricultural instruments will be performed. Competitions related to folk traditions such as Fugdi, Jalebi race, lemon, spoon race, and tug-of-war will be organized for women. Also, attractive stalls of henna, bangles, and alta will become a special attraction of the festival. During the program, special gifts will also be given to the women, and the taste of Chhattisgarhi cuisine will also be included.

    Padmashree Usha Barle and renowned folk singer Sushri Aaru Sahu will give their special performances in this festival soaked in culture. Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Dr. Raman Singh, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, Shri Arun Sao along with ministers of the state government and many dignitaries will be present in the program.

    It is noteworthy that the Women and Child Development Department is organizing Teeja Pora Tihar and Women’s Conference on the occasion of Chhattisgarh Silver Jubilee Festival on August 24 for the mothers and sisters of the state at Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in Raipur. Teeja Tihar has a special place in the rich folk culture of Chhattisgarh. This festival is not only religious or traditional, but also a festival that cherishes social and family relationships. This Tihar, which comes in the month of Bhado, brings the affection of the maternal home for sisters, daughters, and mothers. This Tihar is a bridge to connect relationships and daughters and sisters are invited to their maternal home and they are honored. On this special occasion, a waterless fast is observed, and Shiv-Parvati is worshiped, so that happiness and prosperity remain in married life. Teeja Tihar is truly the real identity of Chhattisgarh, where a wonderful confluence of culture, tradition, and love is seen.
