Raipur, April 17, 2025/Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today visited the cinema hall at Magneto Mall in the capital Raipur to watch a special screening of the Chhattisgarhi film ‘Suhag’. Praising the performance of Padmashri awardee and Dharsiwa MLA Shri Anuj Sharma, who played the lead role in the film, the Chief Minister said that he had launched the trailer of this film, and today he is extremely pleased to see how beautifully Chhattisgarhi cinema is connected to its roots.

On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, MP Smt. Roopkumari Choudhary, MLA Shri Kiran Dev Singh, along with many public representatives and newly appointed chairpersons of commissions/boards were present.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that ‘Suhag’ is a family film and films based on family values have always had a special place in India. He recalled that the first Chhattisgarhi film ‘Mor Chhaihan Bhuiyan’ after the formation of Chhattisgarh state was also a family film, and now ‘Suhag’ is continuing the same tradition. Through the film, the rich culture of Chhattisgarh, the dignity of relationships and the ease of family life have been presented beautifully.

Shri Sai also praised the talents of Chhattisgarhi cinema, saying that our artists, directors and the entire unit work with hard work and dedication, which is why Chhattisgarhi cinema is touching the hearts of the audience today.

The Chief Minister said that the construction of the proposed Film City by the state government will provide better infrastructure, better opportunities and a national platform to Chhattisgarhi cinema. This will promote local talent and further strengthen the state’s cultural identity.
