The Chhattisgarh Secondary Education Board will give bonus marks, ranging from 10 to 20, to sports students in the 10th and 12th board exams. Students participating in NCC, NSS, Scouting-Guiding, literacy programs, and other selected activities will also receive bonus marks.

Pushpa Sahu, Secretary of the Chhattisgarh Secondary Education Board, has sent a letter to the Education Department requesting a list of the students. Students participating in state-level sports will receive 10 marks, those participating at the national level will receive 15 marks, and those performing at the international level will receive 20 additional marks.

The Secondary Education Board has instructed district education officers and education department officials to send the list of eligible students from their respective schools to the Secondary Education Board office by the stipulated time, so that the process of adding bonus marks during the examination can be completed smoothly.

The Chhattisgarh Secondary Education Board has begun the process of awarding bonus marks to students in the 2024-25 board examinations based on their outstanding performance in sports and other co-curricular activities. The list of eligible students has been requested from all schools by March 25, 2025.

Under this scheme, only students participating in competitions certified by the Indian Olympic Association, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, the School Games Federation of India, and other recognized institutions will be eligible. In addition, cadets participating in NCC RD parades, air force, navy, and army camps will also receive marks. The objective of this decision is to encourage students to participate in sports and co-curricular activities.
