Amit Pandey, Dongargarh. A 3-year-old innocent child died in a road accident on Sunday night in Dongargarh, Chhattisgarh. A speeding truck crushed the girl, killing her on the spot. After this accident, the victim’s family and local people together stopped the truck and handed over the driver to the police. People angry over this incident blocked the road.
According to the information, on the main road from Khairagarh to Chichola in Dongargarh, at the turn of Kachhari Chowk, on Sunday night at 7 o’clock, a truck with Maharashtra passing (MH 34 – B6 – 3845) number ruthlessly crushed the 3-year-old girl of Rupendra Sahu, resident of village Mudpar, due to which the girl died on the spot. Seeing this painful incident, there was a lot of anger among the family members and local people, a situation like a road blockade remained on the main road for about 2 to 3 hours, seeing which the entire government staff including SDM, SDOP, Tehsildar reached the spot to calm the matter. But the angry crowd was not calming down, after great difficulties the body of the girl was removed from the road and sent for post mortem.
The accident happened while going to a relative’s house
The victim’s family said that Rupendra Sahu, a resident of Mudhpar, was going to a relative’s house on his motorcycle with his two daughters. Where at the turn of Dongargarh Kachhari Chowk, they were hit by a Maharashtra passing truck due to which the motorcyclist Rupendra fell on the ground along with his daughters. But the innocent 3-year-old girl died on the spot as her head came under the tyre, while the other girl was referred to the district hospital due to a severe head injury.
Road accidents are common on this road
Let us tell you, there are many schools and many government offices on this road, due to which there is a lot of traffic on this road. Apart from this, there is a jam like situation due to many vehicles being parked in front of the shops located on the road. Accidents have become a common thing on this road. The vehicles of the drivers pass here at high speed, there is no system to control them here.
Complained to the administration many times
The local people have made the administration aware of this problem many times and have requested to control the speed of vehicles but the administration has not paid heed to their requests and on Sunday night again an innocent girl lost her life. In such a situation, a question mark is raised on the administration.
Driving at high speed to evade taxes
If sources are to be believed, heavy vehicles pass through the city for the purpose of tax evasion. Heavy vehicles have to go to Calcutta route via Maharashtra. For the purpose of evading tax, drivers take the vehicles from inside the city to Chichola National Highway. Not only this, the driver also gets a reward for delivering the vehicle on time, so drivers drive the vehicles at high speed in greed for the reward. The government administration has not made any arrangements to stop them till date.
Administration action continues
Regarding the incident, SDOP Ashish Kunjam said that the truck driver hit a motorcyclist, in which a girl died and the truck along with the driver has been taken into custody. The angry people were pacified by explaining and the jammed road was made operational smoothly. Further police action is underway in the case.
