Speed breakers which tear tires on the roads of Raipur are illegal… this is how it was revealed that there is no provision in ‘Motor Vehicle Act’

Prateek Chauhan. Raipur. To stop the vehicles coming from the wrong side on the roads of the capital Raipur, the traffic police has deployed tire killers which burst the tires of the vehicles. But now RTI has revealed that there is no provision for its implementation in the Motor Vehicle Act. RTI activist Kunal Shukla had filed an RTI regarding under which Motor Vehicle Act the tire killer has been imposed.

Responding to the RTI, the Office of Deputy Superintendent of Police and Public Information Officer, Traffic Raipur has said that ‘there is no provision in the Motor Vehicle Act regarding installation of speed breakers that allow tyre-splitting’.

Many people’s tires burst

Tires of many people’s vehicles got burst due to tire killer installed at many places in the capital including the expressway of the capital Raipur. However, now half of these tire killers have disappeared from many places and at many places the spring in the breaker has also got damaged.

Now the question is that after the revelations through RTI, when these tire killers have become illegal, will the Raipur Traffic Police remove them or will these illegal breakers remain installed like this?
