Soldiers posted on the Naxal front are falling prey to malaria, two have died

Ashutosh Tiwari, Jagdalpur. The security forces who defeated the armed hardcore Naxalites in adverse conditions in Bastar are battling the malaria outbreak these days. In fact, the soldiers posted in remote camps on the Naxal fronts in Bastar are falling prey to malaria during the monsoon season and reaching hospitals for treatment. Two soldiers have already died in this year’s monsoon season.

The number of soldiers suffering from malaria is continuously increasing in Bastar division. Apart from this, CRPF and police officers are also getting affected by malaria. The outbreak of malaria is increasing rapidly in Bastar. Soldiers fighting Naxalites in sensitive areas are getting affected by malaria. So far, a Bastar Fighter soldier posted in Kanker and an STF soldier posted in Narayanpur have died of malaria.

Instructions have been given to the soldiers to be vigilant: IG

17 jawans of the STF camp in Bastar district were found malaria positive, who were being treated in the government hospital of Bastar. Bastar IG Sundarraj P. says that the jawans posted in the forests have been instructed to be cautious. Along with this, facilities like mosquito nets, Odomas are also being provided. Apart from this, spraying is being done around the camps to protect against mosquitoes. However, this year there has been a decrease in the cases of dengue and malaria. So far, hundreds of jawans have lost their lives due to dengue and malaria.
