Six Tractors Loaded with Illegal Sand and Stone Seized in District

Gaurela‑Pendra‑Marwahi, 2 October 2026 – The district's mineral department intensified its crackdown on unauthorised quarrying and transport. Following directives from Collector Vijay Dayaram K, a special aerial team inspected multiple sites and confiscated six tractors packed with sand and stone.

Four tractors carrying sand were recovered from the Basti‑Baghera zone and placed under guard at the Codegar checkpoint. A single tractor loaded with stone from the Sarbahara area and another sand‑filled tractor from the Andi region were secured at the Amarpur police line.

The department has initiated legal action against the owners under the Mineral (Development and Regulation) Act. Vehicles will be released only after the prescribed fines or settlement amounts are deposited in the mineral fund.

Collector Dayaram also ordered continuous monitoring of illegal extraction, transport and storage, and instructed the team to act swiftly on any breach of regulations. He emphasized speedy resolution of complaints received through the chief minister's helpline.
