Raipur, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated the new branch, ATM and deposit machine of Punjab National Bank at the Indravati Bhawan complex in Nava Raipur today. On this occasion, he extended his best wishes to the employees of the Head of Department office Indravati Bhawan, the citizens residing around Nava Raipur and the officers and employees of the bank.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that significant progress has been made in the field of financial inclusion across the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Earlier, the distribution of funds for schemes was done in cash, which led to the problem of leakage, but now, with the expansion of banking facilities and Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), the amount is reaching the beneficiaries directly and transparently. He said that along with the establishment of peace in the Bastar region, the expansion of banking facilities is also taking place at a rapid pace. The establishment of bank branches in remote villages of Surguja and Bastar region is realizing the government’s resolve to “provide banking facilities to the last person”.
Finance Minister Shri O. P. Chaudhary said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Sai, continuous work is being done in the direction of good governance in Chhattisgarh. In the coming time, there are immense possibilities for the banking sector and the economy of the state. Chhattisgarh’s role will be important in the construction of a developed India and he also appealed to the banks to play their active and effective role in this direction.
