Para athlete Shrimant Jha of Bhilai, Chhattisgarh has been selected for the Swiss Para Arm Wrestling Championship. He has been selected in the 80 kg category. The championship will be held in Switzerland from 13 September to 15 September. In the year 2022-23, Shrimant Jha won four international medals for the country as well as a gold medal in the national but he was ignored for the Shaheed Rajiv Pandey Award.

Shrimant Jha is the player who has won the most international medals from Chhattisgarh. By participating in the Swiss Para Arm Wrestling Championship, Shrimant will not only bring glory to Chhattisgarh but also to the country. Jha said, “When I was in 10th, I wanted to participate in the inter-school football national championship. There were 200 players in it and I reached the top 22, but later I was rejected due to my disability.” He called it a turning point in his life.
