    Paddy will be purchased from registered farmers at support price

    Meeting of Ministerial Sub-Committee held

    Raipur, September 12, 2025/ A meeting of the Ministerial Sub-Committee constituted to take decisions related to the policy determination of paddy procurement and custom milling was held today at the Ministry Mahanadi Bhavan under the chairmanship of Food Minister Shri Dayaldas Baghel. Agriculture Minister Shri Ramvichar Netam, Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Finance Minister Shri O.P. Chaudhary and Revenue Minister Shri Tank Ram Verma were present in the meeting.

    In the meeting, instructions were given to ensure proper and transparent arrangements for the purchase of paddy at the support price declared by the Government of India from the registered farmers in the upcoming Kharif marketing year 2025-26. In the Kharif year 2025-26, the registration of farmers will be done in the Integrated Farmer Portal along with the AgriTech portal. Instructions were also given to conduct extensive publicity to complete the work of farmer registration within the stipulated time frame.

    The meeting also directed that necessary arrangements should be made to ensure that the farmers get timely payment for the paddy sold by them at the support price. Information was given about ensuring timely availability of new and old jute gunny bags required for paddy procurement. Instructions were given to make effective arrangements to stop the recycling of paddy and to constitute special investigation teams to prevent illegal paddy in the border areas. Similarly, emphasis was also laid on making necessary preparations for milling of the procured paddy.

    On this occasion, Secretary Food Department Smt. Reena Baba Saheb Kangale, Secretary Finance Department Shri Mukesh Bansal, Secretary Commerce and Industry Department Shri Rajat Kumar, Managing Director Chhattisgarh State Cooperative Marketing Federation Smt. Kiran Kaushal, Joint Secretary Agriculture Department Shri Rahul Dev and Managing Director Apex Bank Shri K.N. Kande were present in the meeting.
