In a move set to transform the agricultural landscape of Chhattisgarh, Raipur will soon house a regional office of APEDA. This development stems from the proactive approach of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and the Department of Industry, receiving the green light from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.
The APEDA office will be a one-stop shop for farmers, producers, and exporters, offering essential services such as training, certification, and export assistance. This will eliminate the need to seek these services in other states.
The establishment of this office will streamline the process of obtaining phyto-sanitary certificates, quality certifications, and lab testing, thereby reducing both time and costs for local businesses.
By facilitating the export of fruits, vegetables, rice, and other agricultural products, the APEDA office will help to secure better prices for farmers and expand market opportunities for traders.
Farmers will gain valuable insights into modern agricultural practices, quality control, and international marketing, which will contribute to increased income and economic growth.
Local farmers, startups, and MSMEs will be able to readily access APEDA’s export promotion and subsidy programs.
Chief Minister Sai has welcomed this initiative as a significant step toward connecting Chhattisgarh’s farmers to the global market. This is expected to be a decisive move towards the state’s economic prosperity, promoting local agricultural products on the global stage.
