Monsoon rains have caused widespread damage. The mountainous areas are particularly affected by the heavy rainfall. The village of Dharali in Uttarakhand was completely swept away by a flood, highlighting the severity of the situation. Himachal Pradesh is also suffering from the torrential downpour. Many plain regions are facing difficult circumstances due to the ongoing rain. The Delhi-NCR region, including the capital, has received a substantial amount of rainfall in the past 24 hours.

The Delhi NCR area is experiencing a pleasant climate with light rain and showers, accompanied by cool breezes. This weather is expected to persist. Rain is forecast in Delhi NCR until August 11. The region should anticipate thunderstorms and intermittent light to heavy rainfall during this period.

Uttar Pradesh is bracing itself for potentially severe rainfall starting today. The weather department has issued warnings for heavy rainfall across several parts of the state. A red alert has been issued for exceptionally heavy rainfall in Moradabad, Bijnor, Rampur, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, and nearby areas. Light rainfall is anticipated in some parts of eastern UP.

Heavy rainfall is anticipated in Uttarakhand’s districts, including Rudrapur, Udham Singh Nagar, Champawat, Nainital, Pithoragarh, Almora, Bageshwar, Uttarkashi, and Pauri Garhwal. The next 24 hours are critical for Uttarakhand and the Terai region in relation to rainfall. Water levels in rivers and lakes in the mountainous areas may rise, potentially leading to difficult conditions. Therefore, it is important to be ready for any emergency.

Over the next 24 hours, moderate to heavy rainfall is expected in Western UP, Punjab, eastern Haryana, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, and Lakshadweep. Light rain may occur in eastern Rajasthan, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir.

Light to moderate rain can be expected in Northeastern India, West Bengal, Bihar, Eastern Uttar Pradesh, North Central Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, parts of Maharashtra, Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Konkan, and Goa.
