In fact, the trucks filled with paddy from the procurement center and going to the collection center used to often stop at a dhaba adjacent to the National Highway in Coyaba. Where government paddy and diesel for trucks were manipulated along with the dhaba operator. Based on the information, Assistant Food Officer Kusum Lata raided the dhaba.
The driver of the paddy loaded truck present at the spot ran away with the vehicle after seeing the officer. When the team searched the dhaba, 165 liters of diesel was also found along with 15 sacks of paddy. The dhaba operator could not show any legal documents of the seized goods. The officer has done Panchnama and sent the report to the top officers for further action.
The seized paddy was loaded from Amalipadar and Gohrapadar (Mainpur) procurement centres. After identification on the basis of the stamp on the gunny bag, now preparations are underway to take action against the truck and driver engaged in transportation. Mainpur AFO Kusum Lata said that the Panchnama tax report is being sent to the District Officer. Further action will be taken on instructions.
Tainted transporter is getting full support
No matter who tenders for transportation, the responsibility is given to a local transporter from Navapara in Kundel. Earlier, action has also been taken against the transporter in the case of disappearance of a truck loaded with paddy. But due to political influence, the transporter is still stored in the storage centre. The drivers get the power to do minor manipulations from there. Let us tell you that till now 10 trucks of paddy have gone missing from Devbhog Amlipadar police station area, which is far from the collection centre. In some cases the accused were caught, but the case has still not been solved.
It’s someone else’s fault, someone else will suffer the punishment
It has become a tradition to make 5 to 10 bags of paddy disappear in a truck. Actually, whatever weight is sent from the procurement center, it is weighed again in the collection center. The difference in quantity is compensated by the collection center from the purchasing center. Sacks disappearing on the way are a proof of the fact that the people involved in vehicles and transport commit the irregularities, but the compensation is paid from the procurement centre. The procurement center in-charge has made a legitimate demand to validate the slips deducted from the procurement centre, but why this demand is not accepted is beyond comprehension.
