Raipur 17 October 2024/Notification for Raipur Nagar (South) Assembly by-election will be published on 18 October. The process of filing nominations will start with the publication of the notification for the by-election. The last date for filing nominations is October 25. After scrutiny of nomination papers on October 28, candidates will be able to withdraw their names till October 30. Voting for the by-election will take place on November 13 and counting of votes will take place on November 23.
Chief Electoral Officer Mrs. Reena Babasaheb Kangale said that only three vehicles of the candidates will be able to enter within the radius of 100 meters of the nomination center for nomination. The amount of security for nomination will be ten thousand rupees for unreserved category and five thousand rupees for reserved (Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe) category. Only five persons including the candidate will be able to enter the nomination room for nomination.
Chief Electoral Officer Mrs. Kangale said that the alternative facility of online nomination and affidavit has been made available by the Election Commission of India. In this, after making entries in the nomination form and affidavit, they will have to be printed and presented to the candidate personally before the Nomination Returning Officer. A candidate can submit a maximum of four sets of nominations. Along with the nomination letter, the candidate will also have to provide his/her latest photograph.
