Raipur, July 01, 2025/ Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai’s cabinet has approved the Chhattisgarh Logistics Policy 2025. Under this new policy, the state government will give a grant of up to Rs 140 crore and several other concessions to promote private investment in the logistics sector.
Grants up to 40 percent of the infrastructure cost will be given for logistic hubs, dry ports, inland container depots, air cargo terminals and gati-shakti cargo terminals, with a maximum limit of Rs 140 crore. In addition, other concessions including 50 percent grant will be given to investors for external infrastructure. This grant will be 35 percent for transport hubs or freight stations, with a maximum limit of Rs 5 crore. The state government’s aim is to develop Chhattisgarh as a major logistics hub in the country, so that industries, traders and farmers can get cheap and modern storage facilities.
The geographical location of Chhattisgarh, located in central India, is suitable for logistics activities. Taking advantage of this, the state government will now attract logistics and e-commerce companies to invest. This will increase the state’s storage capacity and reduce the cost of logistics, which will boost trade and economic development.
Under this policy, the establishment of dry ports, container depots and air cargo terminals will provide an opportunity for local industries and producers to reach the export market. Also, new avenues for export of forest resources, forest produce and medicinal plants will be opened. New employment opportunities will also be created for the youth.
Provision has been made for capital investment grants of 35 to 45 percent, interest grants of 50 to 60 percent, including exemption in electricity duty and stamp duty on setting up warehouses and cold storage. Similarly, a grant of up to Rs 25 lakh per acre for logistics parks, 50 percent assistance for external infrastructure, 10 percent additional incentive will be given in areas like Bastar and Sarguja. Provision has been made for an additional grant of 5 percent on adopting green logistics. Special incentives will be given on investing more than Rs 500 crore or providing employment to more than 1000 people.
The objective of this policy is to reduce logistics costs in the state, develop modern multimodal infrastructure, strengthen export infrastructure and increase private investment in the logistics sector. It is noteworthy that earlier the logistics sector was encouraged under the industrial policy, but now, in line with the Government of India’s LEADS survey, Chhattisgarh has taken a step into the category of leading states of the country by formulating an independent logistics policy. This new initiative of the Chhattisgarh government will not only give a new direction to investment, but Chhattisgarh will also become a major state in the country in the field of employment, trade and exports.
