A distressing case of sexual assault has surfaced in the Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh, specifically involving a student from an ashram in the Orchha development block. The incident was uncovered when the student returned to the ashram after her summer break. Her atypical behavior raised suspicions, leading to the revelation of the heinous act. Medical examinations confirmed the student’s pregnancy, which initiated a swift response from the management and the education department. The Assistant Commissioner of the Tribal Development Department immediately constituted an investigation committee to address the gravity of the situation. The student revealed during the investigation that she was assaulted by someone she knew during her summer vacation. Fear and societal pressures had kept her silent until her return to the ashram. An FIR has been registered against the accused under the POCSO Act, and the police are conducting a comprehensive investigation, promising swift action.
