Raipur, October 3, 2026 – In the village of Odgi, Chhattisgarh, Dilip and Savitri Gupta have turned a government employment scheme into a thriving bakery business. Using a Rs 10 lakh loan from the Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and a modest family contribution of Rs 2‑3 lakh, they set up the Good Morning Bakery on their own land. The outlet, covering about 10‑12 000 sq ft, produces fresh bread, toast, biscuits, cakes and regional sweets that are now reaching nearby towns such as Bakunthpur, Kudarghar, Khara and Surajpur. The venture employs ten local residents, turning one government opportunity into jobs for multiple families.
