The ancient and mysterious Maa Lingeshwari Temple, located in the cave of Aalor Jhatiban village in the Pharsagaon block of Kondagaon district, will once again open its doors for a single day. Following tradition, the cave temple will be accessible on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
This temple, located in the beautiful valleys of Bastar, is known as a remarkable center of religious faith. Here, Maa Lingeshwari is worshiped in the form of a Shivling. Devotees believe that their wishes are fulfilled when they visit the temple to pray.
Every year, the temple draws thousands of devotees from across Chhattisgarh and other states. Couples seeking children frequently visit the temple to pray for offspring. According to tradition, cucumbers are offered to the deity. The priest then divides the cucumber into equal parts, presenting it as prasad to the husband and wife. It is believed that this act fulfills the couple’s wishes.
Nandlal Diwan, the priest from the Maa Lingeshwari Seva Samiti of Aalor Jhatiban village, informed the public during a press conference that the temple doors will be opened on the morning of September 3rd. Thousands of devotees are expected to gather for this auspicious occasion.
The Maa Lingeshwari fair is highly anticipated, with devotees often arriving a day early to secure the opportunity to be among the first to witness the deity.
