Raipur. A team of 18 senior officials reached Dantewada under the Study Tour-2025 of the National Defense College Defense, New Delhi. During this time, the delegation visited various schemes related to social and economic upliftment in Dantewada district and appreciated the efforts being made by the District Administration and Police Department.
Officials first inspected the Danex factory at Geedam. They were told that with the aim of making local women self -sufficient, the district administration had started the Nawa Dantewada Garment Factory. The clothes manufactured in this factory are sold in the market under the name of Danex brand. Four factories have been established in the district, which aims to provide employment to about 1,200 families. Here the officials discussed with working women and encouraged them.
After this, the delegation visited the Naxal victim rehabilitation center at Karli. Officials were informed that under the Loan Vratu (Homecoming) campaign, safe accommodation and employment are being provided to the families suffering from surrendered Naxalites and Naxalite violence. These families are being benefited through the schemes of the Central and State Government.
The delegation also visited Education City Javanga, where he interacted with students in Saksham-2 (residential school of children with special needs) and appreciated their achievements. Officials were told that a smart learning tool called Annie device has been made available for the education of visually impaired students, which are helpful in learning and reading Braille script.
In addition, the authorities visited the horse operation (horse riding) training center, where students are being taught the nuances of horse riding. During this time, the students also performed the song and music, which was appreciated by all.
The team also visited the free software engineering classes being given to the students by the Nav Gurukul institution. He was told that under this course of 18 months, students are being prepared for entrance examinations like PET, PMT, IIT, JEE. Apart from this, students are also being given special sessions related to English communication and leadership. The delegation appreciated the efforts being made for education, employment, women empowerment and rehabilitation of Naxal victims in the district and described it as an inspirational model for other places. DIG Kamalochan Kashyap, Collector Mayank Chaturvedi, District Panchayat CEO Jayant Nahata, Additional Superintendent of Police Smriti Rajnala and other officials were present on the occasion.
