Union Home Minister Amit Shah has declared a resolute campaign against Naxalism in Chhattisgarh, with an ambitious goal to completely eliminate it by March 31, 2026. He stressed that the operations will persist throughout the monsoon season, ensuring that Naxals do not find refuge in difficult terrains. Shah made it clear that there would be no room for discussions, and the only viable option for Naxals is to surrender. He commended the Chhattisgarh government’s new surrender policy, designed to offer those who return to society a chance for a better life. Shah integrated this fight against Naxalism within the framework of Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Developed India’ vision, emphasizing the importance of justice and social stability for national development. The government’s approach includes strengthening the presence of security forces in the Naxal-affected regions, building crucial infrastructure, and providing access to essential services such as education and healthcare.
