A shocking case of murder connected to an extramarital affair has surfaced in the Dhamtari district. A woman, the mother of two children, is alleged to have plotted her husband’s murder after becoming involved in an affair and conceiving a child with her boyfriend. The investigation, culminating in the uncovering of this dark act, was spearheaded by the team of Konda Gaon SP Akshay Kumar and ASP Kaushalendra Dev Patel.
On June 30th, the body of an unidentified man was found under suspicious circumstances in the forest of village Mageda, the initial findings pointing to homicide. A special investigation team was established. A prescription, recovered from the deceased’s clothing, led the investigators to Dharmveer. He had previously sought medical attention at a hospital in Tamil Nadu on June 27th and was a resident of Nagari, Dhamtari district. Hospital records show that Dharmveer’s friend, Videsh Markam, had taken him from the hospital for further treatment on June 27th.
Markam diverted from the plan, taking Dharmveer to Raygarh, Odisha, where a cricket bat and petrol were purchased. The murder took place in a forest after the victim was intoxicated.
Efforts to conceal the victim’s identity by burning the body were unsuccessful due to rain. A partially burned hospital slip was found, containing the deceased’s name. Contact with the Dharampuri Hospital in Tamil Nadu was made based on the anti-rabies vaccine schedule card found with the deceased.
Ravnina Nagarachi, the deceased’s wife, and her boyfriend, Videsh Markam, have been arrested for the murder. The investigation revealed that Ravnina is 2.5 months pregnant by her boyfriend. She had two children with her husband. Police also discovered that the accused spent hours on the phone with her boyfriend before the incident and that the accused lover kept changing his phone number. Both have been arrested and are in custody.
