The monsoon season, which traditionally runs from June to September, has concluded. Despite the monsoon’s official departure, several states are likely to experience continued rainfall, ranging from light to moderate, accompanied by strong winds and heavy showers. Dussehra celebrations across numerous states are likely to be affected by the wet conditions.

Delhi-NCR experienced a significant downpour on Tuesday. The weather forecast anticipates unfavorable conditions today, with mostly cloudy skies and potential light rain or drizzle. This weather pattern is expected to continue on October 2, Dussehra, with partially cloudy conditions anticipated on October 3 and 4.

Uttar Pradesh has observed a shift in its weather pattern since Tuesday. The meteorological department forecasts rain in the state from October 1 to October 5, which means rain during Dussehra. Today, thunderstorms and lightning are possible in the eastern and western regions, with light to moderate rainfall expected in several districts.

Bihar is also predicted to experience rain on Dussehra. Heavy rainfall is expected throughout the state from October 2 to 7. Thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds are also possible during this period. Light rainfall may occur in Bhojpur, Buxar, Kaimur, Rohtas, Aurangabad, and Arwal today. Heavy rainfall is anticipated in Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Saharsa, Madhepura, Purnia, and Katihar.

Maharashtra, which has received substantial rainfall from the southwest monsoon, is not yet expected to experience dry weather. Rainfall is predicted for today as well. However, a notable decrease in rainfall is anticipated in most areas excluding certain parts of Konkan from October 1 to 3. Mumbai, Thane, and surrounding areas will likely have cloudy skies and light showers.

Rajasthan has issued a heavy rain alert for 16 districts, with the weather department indicating that this rainy period could persist until October 3. Heavy rainfall is anticipated on Dussehra, October 2, with a yellow alert issued for 22 districts.

Uttarakhand is also expecting a return of rain, with the likelihood of heavy rainfall between October 1 and 2. The weather department has issued an alert for heavy rainfall in certain areas on October 3 and 4.

Himachal Pradesh, which experienced the monsoon’s complete withdrawal on September 26, has enjoyed clear and pleasant weather. Dry weather is predicted from October 1 to 3, meaning no rain is expected on Dussehra. However, the weather will be adverse from October 4 to 6 due to the influence of a Western Disturbance, with a yellow alert issued for rainfall during this period.

Additional regions expecting rainfall include Kutch and Saurashtra in Gujarat, with heavy rainfall predicted. West Bengal, Sikkim, the Gangetic plains of West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh may experience heavy downpours from October 2 to 5.
