The 2025 southwest monsoon has intensified across India, leading to heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds in many states. Weather officials have alerted both the public and local authorities, urging caution. The monsoon is expected to progress further into West UP, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, and Rajasthan within the next day.

The monsoon hasn’t fully established itself in Delhi-NCR yet. While Delhi has all the essential conditions such as clouds, humidity, and wind, there hasn’t been any rain. Today, light rain is possible in Delhi due to the influence of a western disturbance. Rainfall activity is anticipated to increase from the 27th to the 29th, especially on the 28th. Good rainfall is expected in the coming week.

**Rainfall Forecast for the Next Day**

According to the weather department, light to moderate rainfall is expected in western Uttar Pradesh, western Rajasthan, Vidarbha, and Marathwada over the next 24 hours. Northern Punjab, northern Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, eastern Gujarat, Kerala, Northeast India, Sikkim, and the northern parts of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands can expect light to moderate rainfall. There is a chance of heavy rainfall in some areas. The western Himalayan region, including Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, will likely experience moderate to heavy rain. Konkan and Goa, and coastal Karnataka are also likely to have moderate to heavy rain.

    **Lightning Warnings for Odisha**

In the next 24 hours, Telangana and coastal Andhra Pradesh are expected to have light to moderate rainfall. Jharkhand, including Ranchi, Dhanbad, and Jamtara, as well as Bardhaman and Hooghly in West Bengal, may experience light to moderate rain. There is also a chance of lightning. Odisha has issued a warning for lightning strikes in several districts, including Cuttack. Patna and other districts in Bihar are at risk of rain and thunderstorms.
