The monsoon has arrived across India, bringing significant rainfall to various regions. Delhi has experienced intermittent showers, leading to a slight drop in temperature but increased humidity levels. The Meteorological Department predicts partly cloudy conditions, thunderstorms, and light showers in the coming days, with temperatures ranging from 37 to 27 degrees Celsius.

Eastern and central India are under a heavy rainfall alert. The forecast includes heavy rainfall in Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Madhya Pradesh until July 8th, and in Sikkim, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Bihar until July 6th. The northeastern states of Meghalaya, Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, and Mizoram are likely to experience severe rainfall this week.

North-western India is also preparing for heavy rainfall, with alerts issued for Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Jammu and Kashmir are expected to receive very heavy rainfall.

Himachal Pradesh has already endured significant damage from the monsoon. Uttarakhand is facing rising river levels and potential flood situations. Western India, particularly the Ghat regions of Maharashtra, is expected to experience very heavy rainfall, with heavy to very heavy rain predicted in central Maharashtra, Gujarat, Konkan, and Goa during the next week.
