Raipur, 27 October 2024/ In the presence of Finance Minister Shri OP Chaudhary, a Memorandum of Agreement worth Rs 42.56 crore was signed between Raigarh Municipal Corporation and NTPC for the construction of Nalanda Complex in Raigarh. Finance Minister Shri Chaudhary said that this Nalanda campus will prove to be a milestone in the development of our new generation and making Raigarh an education hub.
Finance Minister Shri Chaudhary said that it is the dream of all of us to take Raigarh to new heights of development, in which the coming generation will actively contribute and the Nalanda campus will work to create a strong foundation for this. Nalanda campus will be constructed with the help of NTPC. The tender for this has been approved. Emphasizing on building a knowledge based society, he said that the coming time will be based on knowledge. He said that from 266 billion dollars in 1991, India has become an economy of 3 thousand 700 billion dollars by 2024, its size will increase further rapidly. Due to the strengthening of the economy, all sections of the country get its benefits, but those who prepare themselves by acquiring knowledge over time, get more benefits.
Shri Chaudhary said that ever since the Nalanda campus was built in Raipur, students from all over the city come to study there. Many of whom reach mains and interviews in UPSC and State PSC. Candidates preparing for other competitive examinations also come, which creates a good eco system for education in the library. This is extremely important for building a knowledge based society. He said that approval has been given for the construction of 22 Nalanda complexes in the entire state.
This is how the idea of building Nalanda complex came about
Minister Shri Chaudhary told that when he passed 12th and went to Bhilai for further studies, there was a very good environment for preparation for medical and engineering IITs but there was no environment for preparation for civil services. There was a shortage of civil service books even in the big book stores there. Counting books were available. Even in Raipur, books of this quality were not available, so I went to Delhi to search for books. All the books were available in one book depot there. Due to which we realized that it is a big difference that due to lack of right books and right environment, people in our state are not able to get selected in Civil Services. For this, when he became Collector, he realized the idea of Nalanda complex in Raipur. Taking advantage of this, today hundreds of youth are moving forward on the path of success.
Failure in Navodaya taught me to do better for others
Finance Minister Shri Choudhary said that I could not get selected in the competitive examination of Navodaya. If proper guidance was not available then the preparation was not proper. When I thought about this further, I felt that if I am able, I should find a solution for the difficulties I have faced in life for others. Nanhe Parinde project started in Dantewada. Here, children were selected from very poor families from far flung areas and Naxal affected families. After his 5th standard preparation, he was made to prepare for Navodaya and Sainik School. Today many children are doing very well in their lives after studying from there.
The library will have these facilities
Nalanda campus library will be a 24/7 study zone. There will be a facility where more than 500 children can study together. Along with the collection of 25 thousand books, there will also be facility to access international level e-books. There will also be a cafeteria along with three conference halls. Along with civil services, there will be books for medical, engineering, CLAT preparation as well as books for Maths Olympiad. Career guidance seminar will be organized. Along with more than 100 computers, students will also get WiFi facility for internet here. A separate kids study zone will also be prepared to prepare children for admission to Navodaya Vidyalaya and Sainik School after 5th. Where books and study material will be available as per their syllabus.
