Women’s writing is becoming a powerful medium for positive social change
Raipur January 23, 2026/On the first day of the Raipur Literature Festival, a deep and meaningful discussion was held on the topic “Contemporary Women’s Writing” in the first session organized in the Lala Jagdalpuri Mandap. In this session, Ms. Indira Dangi, Ms. Shraddha Thawait, Ms. Jaya Jadwani, and Ms. Sonali Mishra participated and shared their views on the changing role of women’s writing and its social relevance.
The speakers said that contemporary women’s writing has now become a medium for powerfully bringing forth the realities, struggles, inequalities, and sensibilities of society, along with the expression of emotions. Today’s women’s writing is autobiographical as well as reflecting social change, which inspires the reader to think and question.
During the discussion, serious discourse took place on topics such as women’s empowerment, equality, social justice, and changing family and social structures. The speakers emphasized that women’s writing has added new language, new experiences, and new concerns to literature, making it more inclusive and realistic.
The speakers said that contemporary women’s writing is becoming a powerful medium for positive social change. It not only gives voice to women’s experiences but also awakens social consciousness. At the same time, women’s writing is providing a new vision, new sensibility, and new direction to Indian literature.
