A heartbreaking case has emerged from Dhamtari district, where a wife’s suicide is directly linked to her husband’s suspicions. The couple had been enduring a strained relationship due to mutual distrust, which worsened over several years and ultimately led to the woman’s tragic demise. The incident occurred in the Baniyapara ward within the Kotwali police station area. The couple, hailing from Burhanpur, Madhya Pradesh, was employed as laborers. Surekha Ahuja, the deceased, and her husband worked at a grocery store in the Jalamapur ward and resided in rented accommodation. Their marriage, which began about ten years ago, was plagued by rising suspicion in the past two years. The couple regularly questioned each other, resulting in frequent arguments and tension. On Friday, Surekha was found to have taken her own life by hanging herself with a chunari. The Kotwali police promptly attended the scene and sent the body to the district hospital for a post-mortem examination. The police are currently conducting a comprehensive investigation into the entire matter.
