Authorities in Chhattisgarh’s Kanker district have reported the surrender of 50 Naxal rebels, notably including 32 women. The surrendered individuals also relinquished 39 weapons, marking a significant victory for security forces combating Maoist insurgency. The surrender involved key Maoist figures, suggesting a disruption in their operational command. This development is particularly impactful as it’s the initial wave of surrenders from the northern part of the Maad region. Security forces anticipate a further 120 cadres will surrender in Bijapur by Thursday, following intensified community engagement and outreach strategies.
