Chhattisgarh’s Kanker district has reported a significant success against Maoist insurgency, with 50 Naxal cadres, comprising 32 women, surrendering to security forces. The surrender took place at the Kamtera camp of the BSF’s 40th Battalion. Key figures included senior Naxal commanders Rajman Mandavi and Raju Salam, along with five DVCM-rank individuals and 21 ACM-level cadres. The group also handed over 39 weapons. This event is viewed as a critical success for anti-Maoist operations in the Maad region. Hopes are high for further surrenders, as an estimated 120 more cadres are expected to give up their arms in the Bijapur district imminently. Security forces are intensifying their efforts to foster a return to mainstream society for remaining insurgents.
