The Chhattisgarh government’s Mahtari Vandan Yojana is currently benefiting a large number of women. The financial assistance distributed each month is contributing to their self-reliance. An important update concerning this scheme has been released. A door-to-door survey of the beneficiaries of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana will be conducted.
During this survey, new reports will be sought for instances where beneficiaries are not present at their addresses, have incomplete documentation, or in the event of death. Shammi Abidi, the Women and Child Development Secretary, reviewed the Raipur district’s progress. The review meeting determined that severe actions will be taken against Anganwadi workers, supervisors, CDPOs, and DPOs if any negligence is found during the survey.
The review meeting also mandated that District Program Officers, Women and Child Development Officers, and regional level officials will now conduct regular inspections of Anganwadi centers in both rural and urban areas.
