In a shocking incident from Chhattisgarh’s Balod district, a man turned into a beast after an intimate encounter with his lover. Nemichand Sahu, who had been in a relationship with Kamla Rajput for seven years, brutally murdered her in Gurami forest under Daundilohara police station.
Police achieved a major breakthrough within 24 hours, arresting the accused with help from the cyber cell. The decomposed body of an unidentified woman was discovered on January 24 in the jungle. Local police, FSL team, and senior officers rushed to the scene. Cyber units and dog squads were deployed for investigation.
The victim was identified as Kamla Rajput from Paras village in Balod. A missing person report had already been filed at the local station. Technical evidence and CCTV footage led straight to her lover, Nemichand.
During interrogation, Nemichand confessed to the crime. On January 16, the couple met in the forest and had physical relations. When Kamla wanted to leave, he accused her of talking to other men, sparking a heated argument.
Enraged, Nemichand assaulted her, strangled her to death, dragged the body 50 meters deeper into the woods, and crushed her face with large stones to hide her identity. The postmortem confirmed the horrific details.
SP Yogesh Patel revealed the seven-year affair. Despite being married, Kamla lived at her parental home in Paras, where the relationship began. Nemichand had promised marriage repeatedly but turned violent over suspicions.
This case highlights the dark side of illicit relationships in rural areas. Police continue to probe for any additional motives or accomplices. The swift arrest sends a strong message against such brutality.
