The police is appealing to the Maoists to surrender, which is having a widespread impact on the Maoists. Under this, today 16 Maoists including Naxalites with a reward of Rs 8 and 5 lakh have laid down their arms before the police.
Surrendered Maoists have been involved in many incidents like attacks on police camps, murders, encounters etc. The Maoists who surrendered before the Superintendent of Police, Bijapur, were provided an incentive amount of Rs 25,000 each by the Chhattisgarh government under the Maoist rehabilitation policy.
