Irregularities in Paddy Procurement at Support Price, Action Taken Against 38 Employees: 31 Employees Suspended, FIRs Against Three, One Service Terminated. Raipur, January 15, 2026/ Following irregularities in the paddy procurement being conducted at the support price during the Kharif marketing year 2025-26 in the state, action has been taken against 38 employees, including society managers and personnel associated with paddy procurement. Among these, 31 employees have been suspended, one’s service has been terminated, two have been dismissed from service, one has been removed from work, and FIRs have been registered against three employees. These actions have been taken in 12 districts of the state: Durg, Bemetara, Kabirdham, Bilaspur, Janjgir-Champa, Raigarh, Sakti, Jagdalpur, Raipur, Gariaband, Mahasamund, and Balodabazar-Bhatapara. According to information from the Food Department, actions were taken based on inspection and supervision of paddy procurement work in 5 cases of stock shortage, 3 cases of excess stock and disorganized stacking, 4 cases of violation of work instructions contrary to policy, 5 cases of sub-standard paddy procurement, 11 cases of irregularities in paddy procurement, 3 cases of procurement on holidays, and one case each of fake procurement, token irregularity, absence of arrival receipts, illegal recovery, and mismanagement, as well as 2 cases each of irregularities in gunny bag distribution. In Durg district, following stock discrepancies found during physical verification of paddy procurement at support price, Society Manager of Jheet Procurement Center Shri Saurabh Yadav, Society Manager of Godhi Shri Shekhar Singh Kashyap, Society In-charge of Khilorakala Shri Devdat Patel, Society In-charge of Kanharpur Shri Sevaram Patel, Society In-charge of Thengabhat Shri Ishwar Kumar Sahu, and Society In-charge of Murmunda Shri Tikendra Kurre have been suspended. Similarly, Assistant Society Manager of Selud Shri Romandas Vaishnav and Peon Shri Harishankar Sahu have been suspended for actions contrary to policy and violations. In Bemetara district, in the case of sub-standard paddy procurement, In-charge Assistant Manager of Bortara Procurement Center Shri Tikeshwar Nishad, Yard In-charge (Clerk) Shri Kishan Janghel, In-charge Society Manager of Gadadi Procurement Center Shri Bhuvneshwar Verma, and Yard In-charge Shri Gendlal Verma have been suspended. Meanwhile, Assistant Society Manager of Mau Shri Umesh Kumar Sahu has been suspended and an FIR has been filed against him in a case of fake paddy procurement. In Kabirdham district, Society Manager of Kukdur Procurement Center Shri Anil Bajpayee has been suspended and an FIR has been registered due to stock shortage found during physical verification. Chapora Procurement Center In-charge Shri Naresh Yadav has been suspended due to irregularities in gunny bag distribution. In Bilaspur district, In-charge of Piperterai Procurement Center Shri Tejuram has been suspended for purchasing poor quality paddy. Meanwhile, an FIR has been registered against In-charge of Eramsahi Procurement Center Shri Kamiram Khunte after a shortage of 920 bags was found. In Janjgir-Champa district, Peon of Bodsara Procurement Center Shri Harihar Yadav, Computer Operator Shri Amit Kumar Tiwari, and Watchman Shri Niranjan Sahu have been suspended for taking arrivals on a holiday. Computer Operator of Kosmanda Procurement Center Shri Chhavilal Mannewar has been suspended for token irregularities. In Raigarh district, Assistant Society Manager of Mukdega Shri Teluram Sidar, Assistant Society Manager of Kodsia Shri Prahlad Behera, Assistant Society Manager of Chhal Shri Thandaram Behera, and Assistant Society Manager of Jamargidiha Shri Kriparam Rathia have been suspended due to irregularities in paddy procurement. In Sakti district, In-charge of Kansa Procurement Center Shri Eklavya Chandrakar has been dismissed from service for purchasing paddy without arrival receipts. In Jagdalpur district, Kolchur In-charge Society Manager Shri Gautam Tiwari and Retawand In-charge Society Manager Shri Dinbandhu Panigrahi have been suspended for irregularities in paddy procurement. In Raipur district, Clerk-Operator of Nardahara Shri Rakesh Jangde has had his services terminated for illegal recovery from farmers. In Gariaband district, for negligence and irregularities in paddy procurement, Loharsi employee Shri Santosh Kumar Sahu and Mainpur’s Shri Gopi Ram Markam have been suspended, and Shri Bhikham Markam of Shobha has been removed from work. In Mahasamund district, FIRs have been registered against Pirda Procurement Center In-charge Shri Rohit Patel and Singbahal Procurement Center In-charge Shri Budhwant Pradhan in cases of paddy procurement irregularities. Additionally, Toshgaon Procurement Center In-charge Shri Nakul Sahu has been suspended due to mismanagement. In Balodabazar-Bhatapara district, Sakri Procurement Center In-charge Society Manager Shri Satish Kumar Mahilang was suspended for working against policy, and Gunny Bag In-charge Kumari Thaneshwari Sahu was dismissed from service for working against policy. Karamda In-charge Society Manager Shri Rajkamal Sahu has been suspended following a stock shortage.
