The case is of ward number 7 Kalika Nagar of Bilaspur Municipal Corporation, from where BJP candidate Shyam Karthik Verma was keeping envelopes with the voters to distribute money to voters this morning. On knowing this, Independent Councilor candidate Jitendra Bhave went to the spot and stopped Shyam Verma. When other people opposed it, Shyam Verma threw the envelope filled with money into the drain.
A video of the incident has also surfaced, in which BJP candidate Shyam Karthik Verma first explains independent candidate Jitendra Bhave that even after refusing, you are messing up in the election. During this time, the other person says the phone, Shyam Verma says, who has to get it. The answer comes, I call the Election Commission. After which Shyam Verma overturns and throws the envelope kept in the pocket into the drain. Supporters of the independent candidate jumping into the drain and throw out the envelopes. When the envelopes were seen openly, 200 rupee notes were found from it.
