During the program organized by Police Control, SP Bhavna Gupta flagged off the traffic awareness chariot and awareness rally by showing the green flag. Awareness chariot gave the message of road safety in the entire district. Along with this, the auto drivers association of the district pasted traffic awareness posters in their autos. Awareness pamphlets were distributed to drivers.
More than 50 youth participated in the bike rally wearing helmets. The youth and auto drivers pledged to follow traffic rules. The rally started from the police control room and passed through Sanjay Chowk, Railway Station, Bus Stand and Jyotipur Chowk and ended at the control room.
As per the instructions of the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, several awareness programs and special campaigns will be conducted under the National Road Safety Month from January 1 to 31. Apart from this, under the campaigns, people driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding and driving in the wrong direction will be checked, use of helmet and seat belt will be ensured.
On this occasion, SP Bhavna Gupta appealed to all the citizens to follow road safety rules. He said that road safety is a collective responsibility and accidents can be prevented by following these rules. The program concluded with enthusiastic participation.
