In Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, expect thunderous showers and fresh snowfall on January 27-28. Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Rajasthan, and western Madhya Pradesh could see scattered hail on the 27th, while Punjab and parts of UP brace for moderate rain. Bihar joins the fray on the 28th with light to moderate downpours, and Chattisgarh might get spotty showers.
Dense fog has already plagued western UP, reducing visibility to under 50 meters in some spots. Punjab, eastern MP, and Meghalaya reported similar conditions this morning. Temperatures in northwest India hovered between 5-10°C, with Alwar in Rajasthan dipping to a chilly 4.5°C. Himachal’s cold snap continues unabated.
Kashmir’s heavy snow grounded 58 flights at Srinagar airport on Tuesday—29 arrivals and 29 departures canceled for safety as runways became treacherous. Meanwhile, Mumbai experienced unseasonal rain for the second time this January, with eastern suburbs like Ghatkopar to Bhandup seeing heavier falls.
