The Chief Minister’s residence hosted a vibrant celebration of Hareli, a key festival reflecting Chhattisgarh’s rich cultural and agricultural heritage. The event, orchestrated by the Chhattisgarh Department of Culture, showcased the diverse aspects of folk life, the state’s cultural legacy, and honored its farming community. The program included mesmerizing performances of Gedi dance and Raut Nacha by talented artists from different parts of Chhattisgarh. The presence of Sawan Jhula and Savanahi Ramayana recitations captivated the audience. The festival was a lively display of the state’s folk traditions and its enduring heritage.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai joined the festivities, performing a puja to bless agricultural tools, a crucial tradition of the Hareli festival. The event also presented an exhibition of both traditional and modern agricultural tools to educate the youth about the agricultural practices and technological advancements in Chhattisgarh. The celebration featured traditional games and folk art exhibitions, designed specifically for children. The Hareli festival was celebrated as a harmonious blend of environmental consciousness, traditional values, and modern progress.

Extending greetings to the state’s residents, Chief Minister Sai described Hareli as not only a celebration of farming and greenery but also a celebration of coexistence with the folk traditions, the environment, and nature. The government is committed to transmitting this cultural wealth to the next generation. The Hareli festivities at the Chief Minister’s residence aimed to protect and promote Chhattisgarh’s rural folk culture, bringing it to the forefront of public life.
