    56th meeting of the GST Council: Chhattisgarh Finance Minister Choudhary gave important advice

    Raipur, September 03, 2025/ The 56th meeting of the GST Council was held today in New Delhi under the chairmanship of Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman. Finance Minister Shri O.P. Choudhary, representing the Government of Chhattisgarh, actively participated in this important meeting.

    Finance Minister Shri Choudhary said that many issues related to reforms in the GST system were discussed in detail in the meeting. He said that the proposed reforms will provide convenience to the common citizens, provide momentum to the business world and infuse new energy into the country’s economy.

    On this occasion, he said that GST reforms are not just a simplification of the tax structure, but also a means of strengthening ease of doing business and ensuring financial stability of the states and the country.

    It is noteworthy that on the occasion of Independence Day, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had called for comprehensive reforms in GST from the ramparts of the Red Fort. This meeting held today proved to be a historic and concrete step towards realizing that resolution.

    The meeting was attended by Chief Ministers and Finance Ministers of various states, Secretaries of the Revenue Department, Chairman and members of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) and senior officials of the Ministry of Finance.
