239 students honored with certificates and Rs 1.5 lakh honorarium each
Raipur, January 23, 2026 / Governor Shri Ramen Deka as the chief guest and Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai in the chair, meritorious students of 10th and 12th were honored today at Lok Bhavan. These are the top 10 meritorious students of 2024 and 2025 and the top 01 student from Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups. School Education Minister Shri Gajendra Yadav was present as a special guest.
The students were honored under the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Merit Student Incentive Scheme at this talent honor ceremony organized by the Board of Secondary Education at the Chhattisgarh Mandapam of Lok Bhavan.
On this occasion, Governor Shri Deka congratulated all the students and said that board examinations are the first step towards achieving our life goals. You have crossed one stage and are now moving towards the next. While this success inspires you to pave the way for progress with new energy, this honor also inspires other students to work hard, be dedicated, and perform excellently.
Governor said that Chhattisgarh is a state of immense possibilities. Our state, known as the ‘Rice Bowl of India’, is now moving towards making its distinct identity in the field of education. He said that the culture of Chhattisgarh is very advanced. We should feel proud of our state’s Sanatan culture.
Shri Deka said that students want to pursue engineering and medicine by taking IIT and NEET exams, but not everyone succeeds. There is no need to be disappointed about this. There are new subjects where you can soar high in your career. Move forward with patience. Falling is not a big deal; standing up after falling is important. The dream should be big. To fulfill dreams, one needs dedication and practice. He emphasized originality and innovation. He said that children from Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups are progressing in education, which is very commendable.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai told the students that you all are the future of our country and state. The important responsibility of the country lies on your shoulders. The success that all of you students have achieved today is certainly due to the blessings of your teachers, mentors, and parents behind this success. It would not have been possible without their blessings. During this, he congratulated and extended best wishes to all talented students for their excellent performance and the festival of Basant Panchami. He said may we always have the blessings of Mother Saraswati.
School Education Minister Shri Gajendra Yadav informed that 239 meritorious students of 10th and 12th board examinations of sessions 2024 and 2025 have been given medals, certificates, and Rs 1.5 lakh to each student directly into their accounts as an incentive. He said that this encouragement given to students will increase their interest in education and will also inspire other students.
In the program, top students from 2024 (110) and 2025 (129) were awarded. Gold medals were given to students who secured the first position in the merit list of High School and Higher Secondary School, and silver medals to students who secured the second position, and students from Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups were also awarded.
Welcome address was given by Chairman of Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education, Mrs. Renu G. Pille, and vote of thanks was given by Secretary Mrs. Pushpa Sahu.
On this occasion, MLAs Shri Motilal Sahu, Shri Asharam Netam, Secretary of the School Education Department Shri Siddharth Komal Pardeshi, other senior officials of the department, teachers, and a large number of students were present.
