A recent cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on August 19, 2025, at the Mahanadi Bhawan, resulted in crucial decisions. One of the primary decisions revolved around the PDS and the distribution of essential food items.

The cabinet has decided on the procurement of 2 kg of chickpeas each month. This is for the Antyodaya and priority category families located in the scheduled and MADA pocket areas of the state. The Civil Supplies Corporation will handle this via the NeML e-auction platform. The service charge for this will be 0.25% or less, as authorized for the fiscal year 2024-25.

The cabinet has also mandated that those who have not yet received their monthly allocation of chickpeas from July to November 2025 will receive their entitlement by December 2025.

Moreover, the cabinet has moved forward with the plan to establish Nava Raipur as an IT hub. It sanctioned the allocation of 90 acres of land at a reduced premium rate to promote IT (IT/IITS) industries. The intention is to encourage investment in the IT sector and spur industrial progress. This reduction in land costs should encourage private sector engagement, fostering job growth. This will stimulate both technological and economic activity in Nava Raipur, strengthening the processes of settlement and urbanization. The setup of IT businesses will result in improved infrastructure in the region, benefiting the local populace directly and indirectly.
