In a shocking incident from Chhattisgarh’s Ambikapur region, a forest guard was caught red-handed indulging in romance with his girlfriend inside a nursery while on duty. The viral video, dated February 23, shows local youths thrashing the uniformed officer and forcing him to dance to a song on his phone.
The episode unfolded in Surajpur Kotwali area, specifically at Devnagar Beat under Latori police station limits. Sukhdev Painkara, the guard stationed there, was allegedly in a romantic liaison with a local woman from Maheshpur. Relatives of the woman got wind of the affair and ambushed the couple.
Eyewitness accounts and the circulating footage reveal the guard pleading for mercy as the youths unleashed a barrage of abuses, beat him with a belt, and made him groove awkwardly to music. ‘Please let me go,’ he can be heard begging, but his pleas fell on deaf ears.
After the humiliating ordeal, the youths chased away the guard and sent the woman back home. Shockingly, the officer neither filed a police complaint nor informed his department. This negligence prompted Surajpur DFO DP Sahu to issue a formal notice, demanding an explanation for not reporting the assault on a uniformed personnel.
The video’s rapid spread on social media has sparked outrage and amusement online, raising questions about duty negligence and personal conduct among forest officials. Authorities are now probing the matter, with the DFO emphasizing accountability. This bizarre clash between duty and desire has become the talk of the town, underscoring the thin line public servants must tread.
