Lakshminarayan Patwa, Raigarh. The team of Forest Department Raigarh today raided the residence of Akash Verma at Satiguri Chowk and recovered a piece of leopard skin. Forest Range Officer Leela Patel said that on the information of the informer, a search warrant was issued in the name of Akash Verma. Under this, action was taken today. There was no sky at that spot. The house was searched in the presence of his family members, where leopard skin was recovered.
Forest Range Officer said that one piece of air pistol and bullet cover have been recovered along with the leopard skin. How old this skin is will be known only after forensic investigation. Akash Verma was not found hence the statement could not be recorded. Due action will be taken under the Wildlife Protection Act 1972.
