    Raipur. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has accused former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel in the Mahadev Betting App case. An FIR has been registered in this case, in which Bhupesh Baghel is named as the sixth accused. A case has been registered against a total of 21 people, including the promoters of Mahadev app Saurabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal.

    Investigation was already running

    Ravi Uppal, Saurabh Chandrakar, Aseem Das, Satish Chandrakar, Chandrabhushan Verma and Bhim Singh have also been accused in the CBI FIR. Former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has been nominated as accused number 6 in the FIR. There is a possibility that the CBI may soon interrogate them.

    Political movement fast

    Former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel is alleged to have close relations with the promoters of Mahadev Betting App and gave them protection. The CBI is investigating the matter deeply and is also investigating the role of other accused. After the matter came to light, there has been a stir in the politics of Chhattisgarh, and the opposition has demanded a fair inquiry.

    Investigation handed over to CBI from EOW

    At the beginning of the case, the Economic Offenses Investigation Branch (EOW) lodged an FIR on the basis of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) report. Later, the state government handed over the case to the CBI, so that the investigation could be done on a large scale and the role of senior officials and other accused in it can be clear.

    CBI raids and recovery

    The CBI raided various locations in this case, which has found a large amount of digital and documentary evidence. The seized documents include important records related to financial transactions. CBI investigation is still on, and new revelations are likely to happen in the coming days.
