    Fashion Education Takes New Flight in Chhattisgarh

    Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai’s Cabinet Approves Establishment of N.I.F.T. Campus in Nava Raipur

    Fashion and Textile Industry to Receive a Boost in the State

    Raipur, April 17, 2025/ The Chhattisgarh government has taken a historic decision to give a new direction to fashion education and industrial development in the state. In the cabinet meeting held today at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, approval was granted for the establishment of a new campus of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (N.I.F.T.) in Nava Raipur. The estimated cost of this project is ₹271.18 crore. This step by the Chhattisgarh government will not only open new opportunities in the field of fashion education for the youth of Chhattisgarh but will also prove to be a milestone in promoting industrial development and investment in the state.

    The National Institute of Fashion Technology (N.I.F.T.) is one of the leading institutions in India in the field of fashion design, management, and technology. Established in 1986 under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, the institute currently has 17 campuses across the country, including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bengaluru. This 18th new campus to be established in Nava Raipur will be a proud achievement for Chhattisgarh. The institute will offer undergraduate and postgraduate programs in fields such as fashion design, textile design, fashion management, and fashion technology. Additionally, it will also provide students with practical experience and placement opportunities through collaboration with the fashion industry.

    With the establishment of N.I.F.T. in Nava Raipur, the youth of Chhattisgarh will get the opportunity to receive world-class fashion education in their own state. This institute will strengthen the fashion and textile industry by preparing technically trained human resources. In addition, this project will also promote local employment generation and economic development.

    Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has said that the Chhattisgarh government’s goal is to provide world-class education and employment opportunities to the youth of the state. The establishment of the N.I.F.T. campus in Nava Raipur will not only bring a revolution in the field of fashion education but will also take Chhattisgarh to new heights of industrial and economic development.

    Nava Raipur: An Emerging Global Hub

    Nava Raipur, which has already established itself as a smart city, is now achieving a new milestone in the field of education and industry as well. With the establishment of the N.I.F.T. campus, Nava Raipur will have the opportunity to become a major center for the fashion and textile industry. This project will not only strengthen the local economy but will also enhance the image of Chhattisgarh at the national and international levels.
