Laxmikant Bansod, Balod. A unique case has come to light in Balod district of Chhattisgarh, where an unemployed youth claimed to be a Naxalite and surrendered before the police to take advantage of the rehabilitation policy scheme of the government. Police have registered a case against the three youths and are busy in further action.

In fact, the Chhattisgarh government is running Lone Varatu campaign with weapons in hand to connect the Naxalites with the mainstream. Under this, the government is providing assistance and other facilities to the Naxalites who surrender and give up the Naxalite ideology. With the intention of availing the benefits of these schemes, unemployed youth Bablu alias (Madhu Modiyam) resident of Bijapur district reached Balod along with his relative Sudesh alias Manku and a friend Omprakash Netam resident of Manpur Mohalla area and presented himself before the police as Manpur Mohalla Committee. Calling him a Naxalite member, he said that he was involved in many Naxalite incidents and asked to surrender.

Balod Additional SP Ashok Kumar Joshi said, two youths who came with Bablu from Bijapur were trying to prove him to be a Naxalite. When the police investigated the case, it came to light that Bablu alias (Madhu Modiyam) had no connection with the Naxalites, rather he had hatched a plan to prove himself a Naxalite by misleading the police and taking the amount and other benefits received from the Rehabilitation Policy Scheme and distributing it among themselves. Is bent. The police have registered a case against the three youths under section 319 (2), 6 (2) BNS and are taking further action.
