Amit Pandey, Khairagarh. Even after 77 years of independence, PVTG (particularly weak tribal group) settlements of Khairagarh district are deprived of basic facilities. Under the PM-Janman scheme, these areas were promised to connect with electricity, but even today 9 settlements are in darkness. Far from basic needs like road, health and education, these villages have left behind in the race for development. You will also be surprised to see the kind of life that the residents here are living ..

Know what is PM Janman Yojana:
The objective of the PM Janman Yojana is to provide necessary facilities such as better access to safe housing, clean drinking water, sanitation, education, health and nutrition as well as better road and telecom connectivity and permanent livelihood opportunities in PVTG homes and houses.
According to Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited (CSPDCL), PVTG settlements like Jhilmili, Singbora, Gwalkundi, Amatola, Nizamdih, Sanjari, Kohkzhori, Lawatra and Tingipur have not been able to reach electricity connections yet. There are neither roads nor health centers nor lights of lights. These villages are completely cut off during the rainy days, and as soon as night, there is thick darkness. The electricity department claimed to illuminate these villages, but the reality is something else. Under the PM-Janman scheme, a target was set to provide electricity to these areas, but the electricity is absent due to the forest.
Recently, the power company has issued a letter to the Assistant Engineer and directed to connect these villages with electricity as soon as possible. But these instructions will be limited to paper only or will the lights really reach these settlements? This is a big question.
The government may be running all the schemes for the development of tribals, but the ground reality is that the PVTG community is still craving for basic needs. The administration will have to take concrete steps to bridge this gap between the claims and reality of the government, otherwise these tribal families will be engrossed in the web of promises as usual.
At the same time, on the whole matter, Executive Engineer of Electricity Department Ashok Kumar Dwivedi said that there were a total of 47 buses in the district, which had no electricity. But now electricity has reached many settlements. However, there are 9 settlements in which electricity has not reached due to the excessive distance between the forest barrier and the houses. They are proposed to provide electricity from the solar of grid. We have written a letter to Rajnandgaon Creda that solar electricity should be provided in these 9 settlements soon.
