Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao will attend the state level closing ceremony of 'Swachhta Hi Seva' Fortnight.

Raipur. 1 October 2024. Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration and Development Minister Shri Arun Sao will attend the state level closing ceremony of 'Swachhta Hi Seva' Fortnight in Bilaspur on 2 October. Shri B.R. located at Bahtarai in Bilaspur. It has been organized at Yadav Indoor Stadium from 1 pm. A conference of sanitation workers has also been organized there by the Urban Administration and Development Department of the state government on Gandhi Jayanti. Swachhtagrahis, Swachhta Didis, Swachhta Commandos and women from self-help groups of National Urban Livelihood Mission of various urban bodies of the state will participate in it. MLAs and public representatives of Bilaspur district will also participate in the conference.

It is noteworthy that October 2 is celebrated as Swachh Bharat Diwas to pay tribute to the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs had called for organizing 'Swachhta Hi Seva' Fortnight on the theme of 'Swachhata Hi Seva' from 17 September to 2 October in the urban bodies of all the states. Under this, in Chhattisgarh too, from last 17th September, Shramdaan, oath taking, tree plantation, marathon, walkathon, cyclothon and various competitions were organized in all urban bodies from last 17th September to make people aware about cleanliness on a large scale and to increase public participation by involving various social organizations and institutions. Were organized.

As an innovative effort to involve more and more people in the cleanliness campaign, programs like Clean Street Food Challenge, Waste to Art, sale of recycled products, Swachh Bharat Cultural Fest were also organized during this period. During the fortnight, campaigns were conducted on a large scale for cleaning roads, railway stations, drains, water sources etc. by involving common people and elite people in the urban bodies through Shramdaan.

This year, on the theme of 'Nature Swachhta-Sanskaar Swachhta', the Government of India called for adopting cleanliness not just as a campaign but as a lifestyle. To make people aware about this, various programs and activities were organized throughout the fortnight in all the Municipal Corporations, Municipalities and Nagar Panchayats as per the guidelines of the Government of India. By involving Brand Ambassadors and Influencers in the campaign, the message of cleanliness and awareness was spread and inspired to as many people as possible.
